Movie News: Fox Talks PROMETHEUS 2 Plans…

Written by Kris Heys Wednesday, 01 August 2012

Movie News

Despite the lukewarm critical response, Ridley Scott’s PROMETHEUS went on to make some serious coin at the box office. Will that same audience be as excited to see a sequel? Fox are banking on it, and have confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter that they are currently in talks with writers to take over from Damon Lindelof, who won’t be returning presumably since he pretty much had to shoulder the entire blame for the film’s failings (Ridley got off Scott free, as did the original writer, Jon Spaights). Fox president of production Emma Watts told THR, "Ridley is incredibly excited about the movie, but we have to get it right. We can't rush it." Hence a projected release date of 2014 or 2015 (we’d bet on ’15 personally).

As we already knew, Michael Fassbender and Noomi Rapace had pre-signed to reprise their roles in case of a hit, while Scott has revealed his intended title is PARADISE.

We’ll have more as it develops…

Biased hack here! I stand by "lukewarm". Polarizing suggests that at least 'some' leading critics hailed it a masterpiece. I've yet to see any examples of this. Face it - it's a deeply flawed film.

Wasn't a lukewarm response, it was polarizing.
This article writer is a biased hack.
