Movie News: New CATWOMAN Spin-Off A Possibility?

Take this one with a giant grain of salt for now but with THE DARK KNIGHT RISES recent huge box office opening this probably shouldn’t be discarded so easily.

Anne Hathaway is keen to star as Selina Kyle again in a CATWOMAN movie if it is done with “The right people” suggesting in an interview that she would be keen if Christopher Nolan was involved in some way setting the film in the universe he created on screen. This is unlikely considering Nolan has repeatedly said he is done with the Bat Franchise. But Nolan also said about Catwoman “She’s an incredible character and we’re very excited to see her and hopefully we’ll leave people wanting more”. Wanting more, hmmmmmm.

So what does this mean? Probably not much, but it’s interesting to speculate on nonetheless. It’s worth remembering that after BATMAN RETURNS in 1992 a Michelle Pfeiffer starring, Tim Burton produced CATWOMAN movie was in development for a while but it was all just smoke and we ended up with the Halle Berry travesty in 2004.

Okay, so that headline is wildly speculative, but it’s punchier than “O’Neil and Raphael Stand
