Movie News: Roth And Crowe Attached To HARKER

Some time back we reported on a revisionist take on the DRACULA myth that pitted the character of Jonathan Harker centre stage as a detective tracking the murderous count in England. Simply titled HARKER, the project is now being fast tracked at Warner Bros and now has Eli Roth in talks to direct and none other than Russell Crowe attached to play the count himself.

Roth seems to be keen to get back in the directing game after a five year absence with THE GREEN INFERNO and Netflix TV show HEMLOCK GROVE also on the burner. A collaboration with Crowe makes sense seeing as the two have just worked with each other on THE MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS which looks like tremendous fun.

Now if they can just cast someone cool as Jonathan Harker this project will be a done deal. I’m thinking someone along the lines of Sam Riley, Christian Bale or Michael Fassbender, but for god’s sake not Keanu Reeves…
