After what seems like a couple of years in development, HARD CANDY and 30 DAYS OF NIGHT director David Slade has left Fox’s reboot of Marvel’s DAREDEVIL.
Official word is that Slade was too busy with his schedule directing episodes of the Hannibal Lector TV show which debuts later this year, but I suspect that much dilly dallying with casting despite a great script (apparently) has led to Slade’s departure. The film is still due to go into production this autumn and Fox will be scrambling to find a replacement otherwise eventually the rights revert back to Marvel.
The story is apparently still based on the Frank Miller ‘Born Again’ arc from the comics which finds Matt Murdock publicly outed as Daredevil by the Kingpin and his life subsequently ruined.
