Movie News: MAD MAX - FURY ROAD Begins Shooting, First Set Pics Hit!

"We don't need another hero...", said Tina Turner back in 1985. Bollocks, yes we do. We're well up for more MAD MAX, and we've been waiting years for George Miller to deliver on his promise that we'd one day return to the savage, post-apocalyptic world he first introduced us to in '79.

Well, after several false starts, MAD MAX - FURY ROAD has at last begun filming, and thanks to cheeky, Africa based looki loos with very long lenses, we now have photographic evidence. Sure, the content of the pics hardly set the world on fire, but the fact that Miller has finally begun shooting is surely worthy of celebration by itself. And don't forget, we've got a year of this type of stuff to look forward to. Enjoy!

MAD MAX - FURY ROAD stars Tom Hardy as the titular Road Warrior (it's still unconfirmed whether this is a reboot or straight sequel, Son of Mad Max anyone?), Charlize Theron as Furiosa (interestingly the subtitle of the proposed sequel), Riley Keough, Rosie Huntington-Whitely, Nicholas Hoult as Nux, Zoe Kravitz, Adelaide Clems, Richard Norton and Abbey Lee (pictured above having a cuppa).

Expect the film to hit late 2013, early '14.
