Movie News

Good news for music fans as well as fans of Joseph Kosinski’s TRON:LEGACY (and there are a few I’ve checked). Kosinski will follow his previous films formula by uniting with another French electronic music duo to do the score for his next film OBLIVION.

If you like electronic music at all you need to get M83’s last album ‘Hurry Up, We’re Dreaming’, it sounds like it could be a movie soundtrack anyway and is evocative and unique. M83 frontman Anthony Gonzalez has apparently wanted to get in the soundtrack game for a while now and is really looking forward to it. Kosinski is keen on M83 due to the fact that his film is an intimate story on an epic scale and the tone of their music fits perfectly with the story he is telling.

OBLIVION stars Tom Cruise as the last drone repairman on earth whose job is to repair the sky drones that keep earth safe from attack by an alien race. One day a ship crash-lands carrying a beautiful woman and his entire existence is called into question. The film also stars Morgan Freeman, Olga Kurylenko, Andrea Riseborough and Zoe Bell. Universal plan to release the film in April 2013.
