Well known for decrying film adaptations of his work, Alan Moore is finally putting pen to paper and turning out a film script or two of his own. Unfortunately for fans of quality adaptations, he won’t be churning out his own spin on Watchmen, V For Vendetta or The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen.
The dead ringer for Rasputin will be writing scripts for two short films (under the banner title of Show Pieces) called Act Of Faith and Jimmy’s End, both directed by Mitch Jenkins. The films will be aired in October in New York, after which they’ll be streamed on thecreatorsproject.com. As the project is apparently a “multi-layered, multi-episode narrative”, there may be more beyond the initial short films.
Of course, some of the things that Moore is known for are recreational beard-growth, the casual practice of magic and not having an internet connection or working television. So if it goes badly, he may never find out.
