When we reported on this casting rumour last month, we actually didn’t give it much credence. Now it’s being widely reported that Lionsgate, the producers of the new HIGHLANDER reboot, apparently weren’t phased by the flop that was Ryan Reynolds’ last tentpole vehicle, the wrongly chastised GREEN LANTERN, and have signed the wise-cracking star to head up their new film. Well, that’s according to a single source however, the ‘Hollywood Insiders’ who run The Tracking Board, who must have had one hell of a day traffic-wise. We on the other hand will wait until an official Lionsgate announcement before we get too excited.
What we can say for certain is that HIGHLANDER is to be helmed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (28 WEEKS LATER) and is scheduled for a 2014 release. Oh, and nobody really wants it.
