Hugh Laurie

Fresh from his seven year stint playing moody medic Gregory House in Fox’s popular TV show, Hugh Laurie is joining the already really quite impressive cast of Jose Padilha’s ROBOCOP reboot as the villainous Omni Corp CEO.

For those playing catch-up, Alex Murphy will be portrayed by THE KILLING’s Joel Kinnaman, with Abbie Cornish (of the underrated SUCKER PUNCH) playing his wife. Gary Oldman and Samuel L. Jackson are also signed as ROBOCOP's creator Norton and TV mogul Pat Novak respectively.

Oh, and here’s the first piece of promo art glimpsed at a recent licensing expo by the fine folks at comingsoon.net, not much to go on, but interesting nonetheless...

ROBOCOP hits UK cinemas August 9th 2013.
