That didn’t take long! With the award-winning Jessica Chastain (THE TREE OF LIFE) officially dropping out of the running to star as Dr. Maya Hansen in IRON MAN 3 only very recently (and announcing it yesterday), Marvel Studios and writer/director Shane Black might have found a replacement in the form of the always excellent Rebecca Hall.
The rising British actress is best known to genre fans for her roles in Christopher Nolan’s 2006 duelling magicians movie THE PRESTIGE and last year’s highly underrated THE AWAKENING. If you're partial to stepping outside of Starburst's comfort zones from time to time, you might have also seen Hall's work in Ben Affleck's Oscar nommed heist flick THE TOWN, and Woody Allen's kink-fest VICKY CRISTINA BARCELONA.
Here’s a picture of her looking casually out of a window…

While Chastain's obviously great, I personally think fans have lucked out here. Let's hope that an official announcement is made soon.
IRON MAN 3 will begin shooting this month for a May 3rd 2013 release.
