Movie News: Guy Pearce Joins IRON MAN 3...

Hot on the heels of Ben Kingsley’s (sorry, sorry, forgot again – it’s ‘Sir’ Ben) casting in IRON MAN 3 last week, Variety is reporting that director Shane Black has now bagged Mike from NEIGHBOURS too! 

While Sir Ben Kingsley’s role remains top secret (c’mon, it has to be The Mandarin), Guy Pearce is playing the part of Aldrich Killian, developer of the Extremis virus, a nanotechnology that enhances human capabilities, but wreaks havoc on Tony Stark in the comic book arc on which the film will be based.

Guy Pearce can currently be seen in sci-fi prison flick LOCKOUT, which opened in the UK today (clips HERE), and will appear as Peter Weyland in PROMETHEUS June 1st (but you can watch his excellent viral vid appearance HERE if you missed it).

IRON MAN 3 will begin filming this September with a release date set for May 3rd 2013. AVENGERS ASSEMBLE opens April 26th.
