Movie News: SIN CITY 2 Officially Underway

After much speculation and internet-led rumours, Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez have finally confirmed that a sequel to their 2005 noir thriller SIN CITY is underway.  A press release from Dimension Films has been released which confirms that the new movie will be titled SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO KILL FOR and has been adapted by Miller from his graphic novel of the same name.

Production is scheduled for summer at director Rodriguez’s Troublemaker Studios and casting will begin next week. Characters fro the first movie who appear in the A DAME TO KILL FOR graphic novel include, Dwight (Clive Owen), Gail (Rosario Dawson), Miho (Devon Aoki), Manute (Michael Clarke Duncan), Nancy (Jessica Alba) and Marv (Mickey Rourke).

No word as yet as to who will or won’t return from the 2005 original but there will be plenty of fresh meat to cast including Ava, the Dame of the title who is most definitely a classic Film-Noir femme fatale. Cue the rumour mill going well and truly into overdrive….
