Movie News

Bit of a minor news story this but significant if A) you are a horror fan and B) you followed any of the buzz for the movie coming out of Sundance.

Momentum Pictures has acquired the UK rights to the found footage anthology film V/H/S. The story is split into segments with a wraparound narrative and is directed by Adam Wingard (A HORRIBLE WAY TO DIE) Simon Barrett, Ti West (THE INNKEEPERS) David Bruckner (THE SIGNAL) Joe Swanberg, Glenn McQuaid (I SELL THE DEAD) and some outfit called ‘Radio Silence’ who have some kind of YouTube following.

The film went down a storm at Sundance recently with the obligatory audience member fainting and many prominent online critics praising the film. Magnolia Pictures subsequently picked up the movie for US distribution.

No word yet on on an exact UK release date, although Autumn is likely with a showing at Frightfest a distinct possibility. Momentum did a bang up job releasing the found footage fantasy TROLL HUNTER last year and should do an equally impressive job with V/H/S.
