Arnold Schwarzenegger Confirms TERMINATOR Return

Movie News

Earlier this year, it was revealed that James Cameron was to take back control of the Terminator franchise. And now comes confirmation from Arnold Schwarzenegger that The Governator will also be returning as the iconic genre series continues.

Speaking to Screen Daily about the matter, Das Arnold enthused, “It is back. It is moving forward. He (Cameron) has some good ideas of how to continue with the franchise. I will be in the movie.”

All that we know about the upcoming outing for the Terminator franchise is that Cameron, who famously directed the first two movies in the series, will regain the rights to the property in 2019. From there, he’ll oversee a new movie which Deadpool’s Tim Miller will direct.

Back before the first film was released, Cameron famously sold the rights to The Terminator to producer Gale Anne Hurd for just $1 on the basis that he would be allowed to direct the movie himself. Since then, there have been four further outings for the franchise, most recently last year’s so-so Terminator Genisys.

Right now, details are scarce on just how this new Terminator effort will play out, what the focus will be, or how it will fit in with the previous films, but expect more on all of this as we get it.
