The June line-up on Horror Channel will bring some cracking films to the channel including eight premieres and some genuine classics.

Among the films showing for the first time are Retreat (2011, screening June 24th) starring Cillian Murphy, Jamie Bell, and Thandie Newton in which a stranger interrupts a couple’s isolated break on an uninhabited island with tales of a deadly virus that is spreading across Europe and I Spit on Your Grave 3: Vengeance is Mine (2015, screening June 9th) is the third instalment of the rebooted franchise and is arguably one of the best.

Network Premieres for June include Quarantine 2: Terminal (2011, screening June 2nd) takes the western remake into new territory and is all the better for it, while on Saturday, June 3rd there’s the chance to be reacquainted with a masterpiece of terror: Michael Reeves’ Witchfinder General (1968), in which horror legend Vincent Price as the infamous Matthew Hopkins.

Feardotcom (2002, screening June 10th) warns of the dangers of shady websites and stars Stephen Dorff, Natascha EcElhone, Stephen Rea, and the wonderful Udo Kier. The remake of George Romero’s classic The Crazies (2010) makes its channel debut on June 16th.

One film not to miss is Jennifer Lynch’s Chained (2012), in which the daughter of the Twin Peaks legend provides us with a terrifying scenario that will haunt you for some time. On a lighter note, on June 23rd you can revel in the *ahem* glory of James Cameron’s very first feature Piranha 2: The Spawning (1981 - or, if you remember the original release was subtitled ‘Flying Killers’). If nothing else, it’s worth a laugh.
