Plans in Place for 14 More TRANSFORMERS Movies

What does the genre world likely not need right now? Well, a new Transformers movie is pretty high up on that particular list. As it stands, though, there’s already plans for three further movies in the series – starting with June’s Transformers: The last Knight – but Michael Bay has gone one further and said there’s enough stories for fourteen more films *sigh*…

As reported by Yahoo UK, Bay was discussing future films during the recent preview event that took place at London’s Cineworld IMAX. In a pre-recorded segment, the lover of all things explosive revealed that a recent writers room meeting saw fourteen stories outlined. Bay also reiterated that The Last Knight will also be his last time on directing duties for the franchise.

Of course, just because there are stories for fourteen pictures doesn’t mean we’re going to get fourteen further films. And you’d have to imagine three of those fourteen include The Last Knight, the Travis Knight-directed Bumblebee spinoff, and the already-confirmed next installment in the main Transformers franchise.

The official synopsis for The Last Knight reads:

The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. They to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving out world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Antony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock). There comes a moment in everyone’s life when we are called upon to make a difference. In Transformers: The Last Knight, the hunted will become heroes. Heroes will become villains. Only one world will survive: theirs, or ours.

Not only will The Last Knight feature a whole lot of Robots-in-Disguise, but we’ll also see Winston Churchill, Adolf Hitler, King Arthur, and Merlin. It all sounds a little bonkers to us, but we’ll have to wait and see just how bonkers this all gets. For us here at Moonbase Alpha, we’re just clinging on to the hope that fan-favourite Autobot Hot Rod is done justice when he makes his franchise debut.

Transformers: The Last Knight is released on June 23rd.
