The upcoming Godzilla sequel – Godzilla: King of the Monsters – has added another new name to its cast in the form of O’Shea Jackson Jr.

Variety is reporting that the Straight Outta Compton star is to join the cast that’s currently made up of Millie Bobby Brown, Kyle Chandler, and Vera Farmiga. Additionally, it’s being reported that Ken Watanabe will also be reprising his Dr. Ishiro Serizawa role from Gareth Edwards’ 2014 Godzilla.

Trick ‘r Treat’s Michael Dougherty is on board to direct Godzilla: King of the Monsters, with a March 22nd, 2019 release set. As this Godzilla franchise now exists in the same world as this year’s Kong: Skull Island, both behemoths are on a collision course for May 2020’s Godzilla vs Kong.
