Movie News

Here it is folks, our first look at the brand new trailer for Sony's new products-- sorry, we meant RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION 3D, (you'll see what we mean when you've watched it, trust us...)

Shocking product placement aside, colour us very interested indeed! Love the fact that each movie seems to push the scope even further.

Here's the official synopsis to bring us up to speed (especially everybody who skipped AFTERLIFE because they couldn't find a theatre showing it in 2D. Hope Sony aren't so aggressive next time)...

The Umbrella Corporation's deadly T-virus continues to ravage the Earth, transforming the global population into legions of the flesh eating Undead. The human race's last and only hope, Alice (Milla Jovovich), awakens in the heart of Umbrella's most clandestine operations facility and unveils more of her mysterious past as she delves further into the complex. Without a safe haven, Alice continues to hunt those responsible for the outbreak; a chase that takes her from Tokyo to New York, Washington, D.C. and Moscow, culminating in a mind-blowing revelation that will force her to rethink everything that she once thought to be true. Aided by newfound allies and familiar friends, Alice must fight to survive long enough to escape a hostile world on the brink of oblivion. The countdown has begun.

[UPDATE]

Sony have just released these rather ace looking new promo pics...

The fact that there isn't a zombie in sight just strengthens the fact that this franchise is completely its own entity now. Which is fair enough. As long as it delivers on the promise of the trailer and these images then it looks like we're in for a fun ride. But yeah, I really do need to catch AFTERLIFE on DVD first (yeah, it was me I was talking about earlier - could not find a single 2D presentation anywhere. Wonky eyes y'see).

RESIDENT EVIL: RETRIBUTION 3D hits September 14th.

What the deuce?
So Michelle Rodriguez's character is back now as well?
I'm sorry, but the films will never stand up to the quality of the original games. They are tacky attempts at a franchise that should have only been given to Romero, not Anderson.
I remember literally jumping when the hands came through the window in RE2 and me and my friends saying, in unison, "What the f*** is that?" when the Licker appeared on the ceiling.
