Movie News: CHRONICLE Director Up For FANTASTIC FOUR Reboot

Movie News

CHRONICLE directed by Josh Trank has been generating some major online buzz since the trailer debuted in October. The film isn’t even out yet but it must be pretty good because word is that 20th Century Fox is considering Trank for their FANTASTIC FOUR reboot.

The reboot was announced a while back but has been pretty quiet lately along with the proposed David Slade directed reboot of DAREDEVIL. It was announced that the dreaded Akiva Goldsman would be producing the FF reboot but that was pretty much it. The reboot will apparently be entitled FANTASTIC FOUR REBORN, what this means for the actual plot of the film is unclear.

I would be dead set against all this reboot malarkey except that Fox has a pretty good track record with this kind of thing so far with RISE OF THE PLANET OF THE APES and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS being brilliant last summer.

Expect this project to pick up speed if CHRONICLE proves to be a commercial and critical hit.

I'm all for a reboot, I just wish it was with Marvel studios at the helm. Agreed, First Class was just that, but let's not forget they also mate X-Men Last Stand and the original dire FF movies.
