Harrison Ford Involved in "Near-Miss" Plane Incident

This morning brings word that Harrison Ford has had an extremely lucky escape, as the actor has been involved in another near-miss involving his hobby of flying planes.

Various outlets are reporting that Ford was involved in an incident in California in which he was instructed to land at John Wayne airport in Orange County on Monday. Instead of landing at the runway that he was told to, he mistakenly landed on a parallel taxiway. It was then that he passed over the top of a waiting American Airlines plane that had 110 people on board.

All luckily were fine, and that American Airlines flight took off safely a few minutes after the incident. As for Ford, he’s not commented on the situation yet, although it’s reported that he asked the air traffic controllers, “Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?” as he brought his plane in to land.

Ford took up flying in his 50s and is a certified pilot, but that’s not stopped him being involved in several air accidents over recent years – most notably, injuring himself when his vintage plane crashed on a Los Angeles golf course back in 2015.

It appears that the Star Wars and Indiana Jones actor has again been hugely lucky here, and with the spate of celebrities who have sadly passed away for a variety of reasons over the past year or two, news like this is always going to worry longtime fans of this iconic actor. To quote Han Solo, "Don't get cocky, kid."
