The beautiful and talented actress who played Niolani in the Colonists episode of Lost in Space has left us.

Born on August 26th, 1936 in Aurora, Minnesota, Miss York took an interest in acting at an early age, writing short stories and acting. In her high school years, she studied journalism and wrote for the high school paper, the Aurora Borealis, was a majorette in the high school band, and was active in the 4-H club where she won several blue ribbons for cooking in both state and county fairs.

At 17, she won the beauty contest titles of Miss Eveleth and Miss San Francisco. At 18, the bright lights of Hollywood were calling her, where she performed as a showgirl at Frank Sennes, Moulin Rouge on Sunset Boulevard while attending acting classes taught by the legendary Jeff Corey.

Jerry Lewis gave her first big break in his film, It’s Only Money where her performance led Mr. Lewis to cast her in his next five movies. Other notable films included Curse of the Swamp Creature, Space Probe Taurus aka Space Monster, Mutiny From Outer Space, Cannon for Cordoba and Bedtime Story.

An incredible list of television credits included Batman, Lois and Clark, My Favorite Martian, The Name of the Game, Green Acres, I Dream of Jeannie, Mission: Impossible, The Wild, Wild West, Columbo, Kojack, Bewitched, Ironside, the soap opera Days of Our Lives and many, many more.

Miss York appeared in the late Ted V. Mikels film, The Doll Squad and his last two movies, Astro Zombies, M3 Cloned and her final appearance in his final film; Ten Violent Women: Part 2.

A woman who loved her craft, who was gracious and always took time to sign autographs for her many fans, she will be missed but forever remembered. Rest well, pretty lady.
