Vincenzo Natali made a splash with his '97 directorial debut CUBE, and has since given us some solid genre fare such as CYPHER and last year's SPLICE.
According to the folks at BloodyDistgusting, the filmmaker is now in pre-production on a new horror project by the name of HAUNTER, the story of which is described as a "reverse ghost story". By the sounds of it, we're talking BEETLEJUICE territory here*, with the main protagonists the deceased themselves, forced to haunt the house in which they died in. When a new family move into the empty home, the youngest of the spirits makes a connection with their daughter in an effort to help them avoid the same 'sinister' fate that befell themselves.
HAUNTER will begin shooting early this year.
* Which is odd, as Natali started his career as a storyboard artist on the oft-forgotten BEETLEJUICE animated series!
