Movie News

Despite being set for a release next month, Dimension Films’ Amityville: The Awakening has hit yet another problem.

Bloody Disgusting is reporting that, rather than hitting cinemas on January 6th, 2017, this next Amityville movie has been indefinitely delayed. In fact, the outlet claims that the film may not be released for three years! For now, no new release date has been given for the movie, which has been directed by Maniac’s Franck Khalfoun. This is on the heels of the film being retitled, rejigged, and then recut several times since the first delay came about way back in September 2014.

Starring Jennifer Jason Leigh, Bella Throne, McKenna Grace, Cameron Monaghan, Taylor Spreitler, Thomas Mann and Jennifer Morrison, the official blurb on Amityville: The Awakening reads:

In Amityville: The Awakening, Belle, her little sister, and her comatose twin brother move into a new house with their single mother Joan in order to save money to help pay for her brother’s expensive healthcare. But when strange phenomena begin to occur in the house, including the miraculous recovery of her brother, Belle begins to suspect her mother isn’t telling her everything and soon realises they just moved into the infamous Amityville house.

So, don’t be expecting to see this next Amityville effort arriving on the big screen any time soon As ever, though, expect more on this as and when it develops.
