THE BATMAN to Take JUSTICE LEAGUE 2's Release Date?

With Ben Affleck’s solo Batman movie currently in development, it appears that the Caped Crusader is pushing the Justice League aside in order to take centre stage.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Zack Snyder’s Justice League sequel, which was originally slated for a June 2019 release, has been pushed back to make way for Affleck’s The Batman. Conveniently, a 2019 release would tie in nicely with Batman’s 80th anniversary.

As for Snyder, rather than moving straight from next year’s Justice League to working on its sequel, instead he’ll apparently finally move ahead with The Last Photograph – a picture that he’s been developing for a decade. That film centres on a photograph that becomes the catalyst for two men who take a journey through the traumatic war-torn landscape of Afghanistan.

Where The Batman is concerned, Ben Affleck has been working on the screenplay with DC’s iconic Geoff Johns. As well as starring, Affleck will also be on directing duties as his Dark Knight goes up against Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke.

Before any of this, though, Affleck’s Batman will be next seen alongside Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s The Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg when Zack Snyder’s Justice League is released in November 2017.
