Movie News

Actually, 'Producer Talks About Talking About BLADE RUNNER Follow-Up' might have been a more apt headline to go with. Yep, the holiday 'News Drought' continues folks - bit of a slight one this...

It's been rather quiet on the BLADE RUNNER project since it was announced last August, but we'll all be a lot clearer on the direction of it quite soon according to Alcon Entertainment's Andrew Kosove:

"Sometime in the first two months of [2012] we'll announce who the screenwriter will be and whether or not it's a prequel or sequel. And then we'll be off to the races," he told The Playlist recently.

As you might remember, it's already confirmed that Ridley Scott will return to direct, but we've also learnt that if all goes well, this could also see another BLADE RUNNER movie following this one, with ideas already on Alcon's table. Exciting times!

So, the question is: what would you like to see from this project? A PROMETHEUS-style overhaul? Or something closer to the story and mythos of the '82 original? Would you rather see a sequel or a prequel? Then again, bearing in mind it's definitely not going to feature Deckard so it might not matter all that much. Or, do we even need this film at all?

Expect UNTITLED BLADE RUNNER PREQUEL/SEQUEL/WHATEVS to hit no earlier than 2014.
