Production company ShadowMachine Films have announced they're producing an R Rated stop-motion animated comedy called HELL & BACK to be directed by Tommy Gianas and Ross Shuman...

HELL & BACK follows the story of two best friends who must rescue another of their buddies from Hell when he accidentally gets whisked away there by some evil force. Cast in the lead roles (voices anyway) are up and coming comedians Nick Swardson (30 MINUTES OR LESS) and TJ Miller (CLOVERFIELD). Production is set to begin in January with a release date likely some time in 2013.

Animation aimed more at adults has always been a tricky sell at the box office but I’m personally all for it. The people behind the scenes on this one have previously been involved with ROBOT CHICKEN and if they can capture some of the anarchic spirit of that show then we could be in for something special.
