The much-maligned remake of The Crow looks to be once again heading in the right direction as new reports have surfaced to say that Jason Momoa is now in talks to headline the redo.

Mashable has word that Momoa, best known to genre fans for the likes of Game of Thrones, Conan and as the DCEU’s Aquaman, is now in the frame to play Eric Draven, aka The Crow. Momoa has recently taken to his social media accounts with a picture of himself alongside The Hallow’s Corin Hardy, who just so happens to be the man tasked with directing this new take on The Crow. In addition to this, Momoa teased that he’s landed a “dream job” and that there’s “great news to come.”

At present, Momoa is currently shooting Zack Snyder’s Justice League, which will see him reprise the Aquaman role that he debuted in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The actor is the latest name to be linked with the titular role in The Crow, with Bradley Cooper, Luke Evans, Tom Hiddleston and Jack Huston amongst those at one point in talks or attached to the film before ultimately all having to drop out.

After some financial issues, it looks as if all is now “go” again on The Crow, with the film believed to pull more direct influence from James O’Barr’s original 1989 miniseries. That miniseries, of course, was famously turned into a 1994 Brandon Lee-starring movie, which itself spawned a TV series and three further movies.

As ever, expect more on all of this as and when it develops.
