Jessica Cameron’s Mania - the second feature the ever-busy actor/writer/producer/general all-rounder has directed - will screen at this year’s STARBURST International Film Festival, which takes place in Manchester on August 26th-28th - the Bank Holiday weekend.

The shocking modern classic will be screened on the Saturday of the festival, with Izzy Lee’s excellent short Innsmouth. Both star the equally talented Tristan Risk and are well worth seeking out.

Written by Jonathan Scott Higgins, the official synopsis of Mania is: Brooke makes a deadly mistake during a manic episode, forcing her lover and her to flee their home. But can Mel bring Brooke back, or is it too late...

On the film playing at the festival, Jessica told us,
I'm so excited to have my fucked up lesbian love story Mania screening at the STARBURST Film Festival. I've been a fan of STARBURST magazine for years and have a deep love for the UK. It's a tremendous honour to screen at this killer festival.

It was filmed as part of the #KillthePA Interactive Film Experience, which saw Ms Cameron and her associates shoot three films while traveling across the US in a motorhome. The other narrative feature was Desolation, directed by Ryan M. Andrews, and a documentary - Kill the PA.

Elle Church (Headless, Frankenstein Created Bikers) plays opposite Tristan Risk (American Mary, Call Girl, The Editor) in the blood-soaked homage to exploitation movies.
