AQUAMAN Rehires Screenwriter Will Beall

Movie News

Following Jason Momoa’s Aquaman having debuted earlier this year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, there’s been a new development on the King of Atlantis’ solo movie.

Heat Vision is reporting that screenwriter Will Beall has joined the film once more. Beall, best known for his work on the likes of Castle and Gangster Squad, was initially hired to pen the Aquaman screenplay by Warner Brothers back in 2014, but his involvement in the picture came to an end once director James Wan was hired last year. At that time, Wan brought in David Leslie Johnson, who he’s recently worked with on The Conjuring 2, to develop the Aquaman script.

This latest move will see Beall rejoin the project to pen a screenplay based on a new story put together by Wan and DC’s ever-impressive Geoff Johns.

All that’s known about Aquaman right now is that it will follow that character’s appearance in Zack Snyder’s Justice League, starring Momoa as Arthur Currie/Aquaman, Amber Heard as Arthur’s wife Mera, and Willem Dafoe as Aquaman confidant Vulko. Heard and Dafoe will also be making small appearances in Justice League alongside Momoa when that arrives next year.

Aquaman is currently set for a July 27th, 2018 release.
