Movie News

In some news that will likely bring a tear to the eye our boss man here at Moonbase Alpha, Jesse Eisenberg has confirmed that his Lex Luthor will indeed be appearing in Zack Snyder’s Justice League.

This news comes just a day after it was revealed that Snyder’s two-part JL adventure has been changed up into a singular film, and now we have confirmation that Superman’s greatest nemesis will be a part of that movie.

Eisenberg had previously talked about how he’d love for Lex to be a part of Justice League, although at that point in time he said that he wasn’t sure if it would be happening. Now, speaking to Shortlist, the actor confirmed, “They are filming now, and I jump in from August.”

He added, “I loved the character and it was the most fun I’ve ever had at playing a role, and most challenging, in a great way and most rewarding. I would love to play it for years. The character I play is so unusual and complicated. As an actor he’s everything you’d want to do. It’s very exciting for me to play that role. And, secondarily, it’s interesting to be in these massive, high-profile movies, because all the stuff around you as an actor is really good. All the artists are really great, so you walk on to a set and it’s the most-detailed, comprehensive set, and as an actor it really fills in your imagination in a special way.”

Snyder’s Justice League will see Ben Affleck’s Batman putting together the titular team of Henry Cavill’s Superman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s Flash and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. Additionally, JK Simmons is to play Jim Gordon, Amber Heard is Aquaman’s wife Mera, and Willem Dafoe is on board as an Vulko, the mentor of Aquaman. As for the main 'big bad' of the film, it appears that that will be Steppenwolf.

At present, Justice League is set for a November 10th, 2017 release.

Excellent news. That saves me the cost of the ticket and saves me from another wasted night at the flicks.
