Captain America: Civil War was yet another homerun for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and now all eyes are looking at what’s ahead for the MCU. Whilst Doctor Strange is on the way later this year, then Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Thor: Ragnarok set for next year, 2018 brings the first part of the Russo Brothers’ two-part Avengers: Infinity War… and that’s something that Josh Brolin is certainly looking forward to.

Speaking to Moviefone about how impressed he’s been with Infinity War’s story, Brolin enthused, “Yeah, I sat at a table and I listened to the story from beginning to end, which was… you know, sometimes you go around and you go, ‘Oh, it’s a great movie. Or this is a great experience,’ and you kind of know that it’s not. This is the opposite. These stories, these Avengers stories, all come down to this conclusion, and that’s our involvement. Basically, my character against everybody. And t’s really fun what they’ve chosen to do with the story. I think it’s brilliant, personally. I was blown away and had goosepimples pretty much 50% of the time that I was listening to what was going on, and am pretty amazed that I’m going to be involved in it. So it’s a big thing that’s coming up.”

The two-part Infinity War will see Brolin’s Thanos finally step out of the shadows and look to decimate the entire MCU as we know it. Thanos, of course, was first teased at the end of Avengers Assemble before then having a slightly bigger role in James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy.

At present, Avengers: Infinity War Part I is set for May 4th, 2018 and Avengers: Infinity War Part II will arrive on May 3rd, 2019. The Russos have previously revealed that the whole Infinity War subtitle will be changed for both movies by the time they’re released, although we’ve yet to find out what the new titles will be.
