With Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa having made his MCU debut in Captain America: Civil War, all eyes are eagerly looking ahead to Marvel Studios’ Black Panther. And now, that film has managed to find a high-profile new addition.

The Hollywood Reporter has word that Michael B. Jordan has joined the film and will seemingly play a villain who will go up against Boseman’s Black Panther. Jordan first came to the attention of many for his brilliant turns in the likes of Fruitvale Station and Josh Trank’s Chronicle. Following that, however, Jordan played Johnny Storm in Trank’s horrendous Fantastic Four last year. In fairness to the actor, he was one of the only real shining lights of that dark, depressing and simply awful FF movie. After that, though, Jordan wowed audiences as Adonis Creed in the stunning Creed, which was released at the turn of the year. As it happens, Creed director Ryan Coogler is the man tasked with writing and directing Black Panther, so the addition of Jordan is a logical one given the pair's joy at working together on the Rocky spin-off.

There are no definitive details on what role Michael B. Jordan will play in the T’Challa-focussed movie, but it’s believed that he will be somebody who butts heads with the King of Wakanda. This is in addition to the inclusion of Andy Serkis’ nefarious Ulysses Klaw, who was introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, as someone else who’ll be causing problems for Black Panther. This also comes hot on the heels of last week’s news that Lupita Nyong’o is currently in talks to play a love interest for T’Challa. Martin Freeman’s Everett Ross, who debuted in Captain America: Civil War, is another who is expected to be a part of Black Panther.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
