Courtney B. Vance Joins THE MUMMY

Deadline reports that Courtney B. Vance has joined the cast of the upcoming Mummy reboot.

Vance, best known for playing Johnnie Cochran in American Crime Story: The People vs. OJ Simpson, has signed on for a currently-unknown role in Alex Kurtzman’s redo. The reboot will be the launch of a new shared monster universe for Universal, with plans already in place for the likes of The Wolfman, The Invisible Man, Bride of Frankenstein, and Van Helsing.

In The Mummy, Tom Cruise will go up against Sofia Boutella’s titular monster. Annabelle Wallis and Jake Johnson are also on board for the film.

At present, The Mummy will hit cinemas on June 9th, 2017.
