Dave Bautista Teases BLADE RUNNER 2 Role

Movie News

Former professional wrestler Dave Bautista is making quite the name for himself in the acting world these days, and it looks as if the hulking six-time World Champion is set to land a role in the upcoming Blade Runner sequel.

Following the news last week that Robin Wright was in final talks for Dennis Villeneuve’s Blade Runner 2, Bautista has taken to his Facebook page to tease what looks like a role in the long-mooted sequel to Ridley Scott’s iconic 1982 movie.

Accompanied with the caption “I can’t wait to share some really exciting news…”, the tease-tastic image is as below:

What’s that in Bautista’s hands? Why, of course, that’s the origami unicorn from Scott’s Blade Runner.

Whilst many pro wrestlers have tried and failed when it comes to the acting world, Dave Bautista is somebody who has impressed many in recent years with turns in the likes of The Man with the Iron Fists, Riddick, SPECTRE and most famously as Drax the Destroyer in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. The grappler-turned-actor is currently shooting James Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, and he’ll also be starring in Kickboxer Vengeance later this year.

All that’s known about Blade Runner 2 right now is that Ryan Gosling is on board and that Harrison Ford is returning. Could it be that Dave Bautista will also be on board when the film hits cinemas on January 12th, 2018? It certainly looks like it.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
