Whilst a Green Lantern Corps. movie has been long-confirmed, there’s still some uncertainty on when the Emerald Knight(s) will make an appearance in Warner Brothers’ cinematic DC realm. Now comes some details on when we could see a GL debut in the DCCU.

Now DC’s Geoff Johns had previously said that we can expect there to be a Green Lantern presence in Zack Snyder’s two-part Justice League effort, although it now appears as though we won’t see a Lantern until Justice League Part Two at the earliest.

Speaking to EW, producer Charles Roven said, “Every beat of the movie is not yet worked out. So there’s the possibility that he may or may not be in Justice League 2. For now, we felt that we were introducing enough characters that the best possible place we could put Green Lantern is some introduction in Justice League 2 or, barring that, a movie after.”

Warners’ Greg Silverman added, “He is an incredible character. He’s actually multiple incredible characters. That’s real opportunity there. We didn’t do a great job on that first Green Lantern movie. This is a character who deserves to be treated in the same way that Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman are being treated now, which is with great reverence. I guess I can say to the Green Lantern fans: if they can be patient with us, I think they’ll be really happy.”

At present, Snyder’s Justice League Part One is currently set for a November 17th, 2017 release, with Justice League Part Two planned for June 14th, 2019. The main JL team for those movies is set to be Ben Affleck’s Batman, Henry Cavill’s Batman, Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa’s Aquaman, Ezra Miller’s Flash, and Ray Fisher’s Cyborg. Whether a Green Lantern appears in those movies or not, Green Lantern Corps. is set for a June 19th, 2020 release.
