Del Toro's SCARY STORIES Adap Brings in Writers

Movie News

Earlier this year saw news break that Guillermo del Toro was set to helm an adaptation of Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, and now the adap has brought in some writers.

Variety is reporting that The LEGO Movie’s Dan Hageman and Kevin Hageman will pen the script based on Alvin Schwartz’s source material.

The initial Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark book was published back in 1981 and went on to become a huge favourite of many, with it soon becoming the first of a three-book series that was followed up with More Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Scary Stories 3: More Tales to Chill Your Bones. The first book was illustrated by Stephen Gammell and featured over two dozen terrifying tales of horror.

As ever, expect more on this adaptation as and when it develops.
