Work Already Under Way on BOND 25

With SPECTRE now available on DVD and Blu-ray, talks have already begun on what direction to take the next Bond effort in.

Speaking to Birth Movies Death, producer Gregg Wilson revealed that Bond 25 is already being thought about. “We’ve just begun to doodle with ideas for the next movie,” he said. “Each script process begins when we ask ourselves the question ‘what is the world afraid of now?’ In the case of SPECTRE the theme was global monitoring and utilization of information. So now we are trying to find out what will be relevant in the coming years. We always want to do something new with the Bond character and see him in situations we have not seen him in in the past. We must give the audience something new every time. Often it helps to go back to Ian Fleming’s novels for inspiration, whether you’re talking about grades or mood.”

Given that Bond has tackled so many different threats since his big screen debut in 1962’s Dr. No, it remains to be seen what there’s left for James to tangle with in Bond 25. And then there’s also the topic of just who will be having his martinis shaken not stirred when 007 returns for his next outing.

Daniel Crag has previously gone on record to say that he’d rather kill himself than play Bond again, but then there’s also reports that he’s contracted to at least one more movie, not to mention he later suggested that he was only joking with the killing himself remark. From what’s being last reported on the next Bond film, it seems that Craig will be back for one more turn as one of cinema’s most iconic characters. From there, though, all bets are off.

As ever, expect more on Bond 25 as and when it develops.
