News on Another BATMAN V SUPERMAN Villain

Movie News

The anticipation for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is starting to ratchet up amongst long-time DC fans. For decades now, there’s been rumblings of a cinematic showdown between the Dark Knight and the Man of Steel, and the time is nearly upon us. But as well as battling each other, the duo will also come up against Lex Luthor and Doomsday… and A.N. Other.

That’s right, another rogue will be making an appearance in Zack Snyder’s Dawn of Justice, with this particular villain being introduced ahead of a more fleshed-out role in Snyder’s Justice League Part One. It goes without saying, but there be spoilers ahead…

SPOILERS

The ever-reliable Latino Review is reporting that as well as Luthor and Doomsday, Batman v Superman will also see the debut of Bizarro. The plan will then be to have Bizarro play a pivotal role in the first Justice League movie.

For those not familiar with Bizarro, he’s a Luthor-created flawed Superman clone. The character is basically the opposite of Superman in a lot of ways, with his powers even reflecting this; instead of heat vision he has freeze vision, instead of freeze breath he has heat breath, etc. Since debuting in 1958, the character has at times been portrayed as a more light-hearted villain, but when handled correctly he can be a major threat to Superman and the Justice League.

In order for Luthor to be able to make a Supes clone here, he’ll have to get himself some Superman DNA during Dawn of Justice. Could it be that some blood is spilled during the Last Son of Krypton’s fight with the Caped Crusader? Could Doomsday maybe even get the sample for Lex? We’ll have to wait and see.

Treat this all as rumour for now, although Latino Review are usually bang on the money with their stories.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice arrives in cinemas on March 25th.
