GAMBIT to Start Shooting in March

Despite having its fair share of ups and downs so far, 20th Century Fox’s Gambit has now finally been given a new start date.

The Channing Tatum-starring Gambit was initially set to start shooting this past October, although this failed to happen largely due to director Rupert Wyatt departing the project. Reports from WGNO in New Orleans are now claiming that the film will finally start shooting in the Big Easy in March.

Starring Tatum as the titular Remy LeBeau, Gambit will also feature Lea Seydoux as Bella Donna Boudreax, a love interest-turned-villain for the cooler than cool energy-manipulating Cajun. No further plot details or casting are known at this stage, although Edge of Tomorrow’s Doug Liman has stepped in to fill the void left by Wyatt.

Gambit was originally set to be released this coming October, although those plans have seemingly been shelved. No new release date has been set as of yet, with the smart money now suggesting that the film may not actually hit the big screen until early 2017.
