Movie News

Despite DARK SHADOWS not having even wrapped shooting yet, and animators working around the clock on his FRANKENWEENIE feature, it's looking like Burton is already lining up his next project over at 20th Century Fox...

According to Deadline, the director is eyeing an adaptation of MISS PEREGRINE'S HOME FOR PECULIAR CHILDREN, the acclaimed book by Ransom Riggs. The secret-filled tale of a mysterious orphanage that houses 'gifted' children is a perfect fit for Burton, which will delight his fans but annoy those who have grown tired of his schtick over the years.

Here's one of those nifty book trailers that will fill you in on the story for those unfamiliar with the source. It's interesting to note just how much Burton himself has influenced the promo, right down the Elfman-esque score...

Pure Burton, right? Uncanny.

Are you happy that Burton is doing this or would you rather he challenge himself a little more? Share your thoughts on this or anything else in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag

Intriguing, scary, and a whole everything you could want in a book, or a movie. It is like the xmen story school for gifted children, but with a deeper, darker twist. I cant wait to see and read this piece of genius.

Thank the lord for people with a creative gene in their bodies, that dont need to steal or revamp ideas.
