Need another reason to go see THE MUPPETS? Nope, neither do we, but that hasn't stopped Disney sweetening the deal with the inclusion of a second Pixar TOY STORY short that will play before it.

Following on from HAWAIIAN VACATION (which by comparison was the ONLY reason to see CARS 2), this second story is entitled SMALL FRY, and revolves around the gang's new owner, TOY STORY 3's Bonnie, accidentally losing Buzz when she mistakes him for a Happy Meal-esque version on a trip to a fast food joint. After taking a look at the following first look image, I think you'll agree that Bonnie might have serious learning difficulties - I know she's meant to be young, but c'mon, who could possibly confuse the two of them?! Sheesh.

Actually, upon further investigation I might be being a little hard on Bonnie. Seems it might not be entirely her fault. Turns out that little Buzz in the pic above is a bit of a crafty sod and has kidnapped the real Lightyear to take his place in the fast food restaurant's display case. Angus MacLane, writer/director of SMALL FRY, describes the story as a "Prince and the Pauper tale for toys, except one of them happens to be 3 inches tall."

In all seriousness the short, like HAWAIIAN VACATION before it, sounds pretty inspired. I'll be looking forward to these getting some kind of collected home video release at some point down the line.

In the meantime, we can catch SMALL FRY when THE MUPPETS opens in the US on November 23rd, and February 10th in the UK.

Disney have now released their first clip!

Love the Pork Chop Bot. Inspired.

Are you digging these Pixar shorts? Are they preferable to a TOY STORY 4? (Don't want to influence your answer, but yes, yes they are). Let us know in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag
