Movie News: Bruce Campbell Talks EVIL DEAD Remake

Movie News

TV Guide got the opportunity to rap with the genre legend Bruce Campbell recently, and though there to pimp BURN NOTICE, in which he plays sidekick Sam Axe, he spoke briefly about the upcoming EVIL DEAD remake that he's co-producing with longtime collaborators Sam Raimi and Robert Tapert.

Info dropped was chiefly stuff that has already broken (read here, and here to bring yourself up to speed), but it's always nice to hear confirmation from those really in the know. Details of interest include:

* The film will definitely not revolve around a reinterpretation of the Ash character, as they don't want to make people draw comparisons. Smart move.

* That said, Campbell himself isn't ruling out a cameo appearance, though he doesn't know what he'd play. (We've got a suggestion: Ash! Perfect way to appease the fans of the original series who are sensitive to this remake culture!)

* And speaking of those fans, Campbell acknowledges people are a little "iffy" about it. Yup. Too right we are.

That's pretty much it for ED news, but we recommend you watch the full interview HERE, especially if you're a BURN NOTICE fan or just a Campbell appreciator in general.
