Movie News: GODZILLA Reboot Hires New Writer

Movie News

Hats off to Legendary Pictures and director Gareth Edwards (MONSTERS) for even attempting this project after the spectacular misfire that was Roland Emmerich's mega budget 1998 version, but the pressure to nail a Western take on the insanely popular Japanese icon is starting to show, with a third writer now being brought onboard to whip the script into shape.

Newcomer Max Borenstein is the latest to have landed the unenviable task of trying to get audiences to give a monkey's about the giant lizard, replacing original scribe David Callaham (DOOM), and then David Goyer (THE DARK KNIGHT).

As for the rest of the details, nobody knows squat other than the slight tease from producers that Godzilla won't be the only monster appearing in the movie. Are Mothra fans about to be very happy indeed come the summer of 2014? Personally, we've got our fingers crossed for Godzooky.

Which of Godzilla's sparring partners would you like to see on film? Can this project even be pulled off successfully? Share any thoughts with your fellow readers in the Comments below or on Twitter @Starburst_Mag
