Movie News

Whilst galaxies far, far away, scares and superheroes all get our excitement levels up here at Moonbase Alpha, it’s Kevin Smith’s Mallrats sequel that is the most hotly-anticipated upcoming movie for some of us at STARBURST.

For those of you like us, you’ll be pleased to know that Smith has now announced that production on his Mallrats sequel, officially titled Mallbrats, will start in January at the Exton Square Mall.

Taking to Twitter to reveal the news, Kev revealed, “We found our MALL, y’all! This January, the @extonsquaremall in Exton, PA will star in #Mallrats 2! @jayandsilentbob are coming to Chester County! Big thanks to financiers StarStream, who found the mall & the money! They’re making this #MR2 dream come true!”

In amongst a plethora of returning familiar faces, Mallbrats will feature Jason Lee, Jeremy London, Shannen Doherty, Claire Forlani, Michael Rooker, Ethan Suplee, Joey Lauren Adams, Brian O’Halloran, Renee Humphrey, Sven-Ole Thorsen, Scott Mosier, Bryan Johnson, Walt Flanagan, and even Stan “The Man” Lee. Oh, and of course Jason Mewes and Smith himself will be back as everyone’s favourite loveable stoners, Jay and Silent Bob.

Before production gets under way on Mallbrats, Smith will have his hands full with Yoga Hosers, the second of his True North trilogy that began with the brilliantly messed-up Tusk.
