Ronda Rousey to Take Lead Role in ROAD HOUSE Remake

Movie News

In some left-field news, MMA icon Ronda Rousey is set to sign on to take the lead in MGM’s Road House remake.

Variety is reporting that the UFC Women’s Bantamweight Champion is close to signing on to play a take on Patrick Swayze’s Dalton from the original 1989 movie. That means that Rousey will be getting to kick all kinds of ass as the bouncer tasked with protecting the rowdy Double Deuce bar. As well as being a force of nature in the UFC, the most dominant female athlete on the planet has also branched out into the world of acting in recent years, most notably playing significant roles in The Expendables 3 and Fast & Furious 7.

No further details are known on the redo at this stage, although the studio is currently on the hunt for writers to bring in on the project.

As ever, expect more on this as it develops.
