As Earth’s Mightiest Heroes prepare to take sides, some new concept art for Captain America: Civil War has surfaced to show just where allegiances will lie when the film hits screens next May. Be warned, there’s some potential spoilers ahead…

CBM has managed to get hold off the concept art in question, which shows that Robert Downey Jr.’s Iron Man will be joined by Don Cheadle’s War Machine, Scarlett Johansson’s Black Widow, Paul Bettany’s Vision and Chadwick Boseman’s debuting Black Panther. On the side of Chris Evans’ Captain America will be Anthony Mackie’s Falcon, Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye, Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier, Paul Rudd’s Ant-Man and Emily VanCamp’s Sharon Carter. It’s also believed that Tom Holland’s Spider-Man will be another who ends up siding with Iron Man during Spidey's brief MCU introduction here.

In addition to the aforementioned names, Civil War will also feature Elizabeth Olsen’s Scarlet Witch, Daniel Bruhl as Baron Helmut Zemo, Frank Grillo as Crossbones, and William Hurt as General Thunderbolt Ross. It's also believed, although currently unconfirmed, that Mark Ruffalo's Hulk will be back in some form.

The official word on the film reads:

Captain America: Civil War picks up where Avengers: Age of Ultron left off, as Steve Rogers leads the new team of Avengers in their continued efforts to safeguard humanity. After another international incident involving the Avengers results in collateral damage, political pressure mounts to install a system of accountability and a governing body to determine when to enlist the services of the team. The new status quo fractures the Avengers while they try to protect the world from a new and nefarious villain.

To be directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, Captain America: Civil War is set for a May 6th, 2016 release.
