Movie News

With rumblings of another Blade movie having done the rounds lately, there’s a new spin put on that speculation that claims any other outing for the Daywalker may actually focus on a female Blade.

Bleeding Cool is reporting the news, with the key to all of this being the release of Blade #1, a book that is part of the rejigged “All-New, All-Different Marvel”. Whilst certain heroes have been relaunched in varying ways, the big change for Blade is that he’s to see a daughter added to his book.

The relaunched Blade #1 was initially set to debut in October of this year, but this has now been delayed. What’s most interesting is that this new story claims that the reason for the delay is down to Marvel Entertainment stepping in and using their influence. This is because this new comic book series is believed to be the blueprint for a new Blade movie.

Wesley Snipes has already openly talked about how he has met with Marvel at certain points this year in regards to the Blade franchise and certain other unconfirmed matters. Could it be that Snipes will be brought into the MCU in order to pass the torch to a new, female version of the famed Daywalker?

As for Blade’s daughter, the official word on the upcoming comic book title reads:

“Fallon Grey is a sixteen-year-old girl from rural Oregon. Nominated for Prom Queen, Captain of the debate team, most popular girl in her class. But there is another side to Fallon. A feeling like there’s something more inside of her. When terror strikes her small town, she’ll find out just how right she was. As fearsome supernatural forces hunt Fallon, she’ll come face to face with something even more shocking than the monsters on her tail. Eric Brooks… Blade… her father?! And in each other, they’re discover the purpose they’ve each been struggling to find.”

Expect more on this as and when it develops.
