Wesley Snipes Reveals "Positive" Marvel BLADE Talks

Movie News

About a month or so ago, Wesley Snipes talked up the possibility of returning to the Blade franchise once more. With the cinematic rights to the Daywalker now back at Marvel, the actor has again been talking up the possibility of seeing him play the famed vampire slayer once more.

Speaking to CBR, Snipes teased, “Well, we’ve had some discussions. We have had very positive and favourable discussions about the Blade character and other things they have in mind. We’ll see where it goes. For those Blade fans, if we never reprise Blade, I have another character that will stand toe-to-toe with Blade any day. It’s not done yet.”

So whilst the actor has again confirmed talks with Marvel about the Blade role, it certainly appears that nothing is set in stone as of yet. Additionally, there had been some previous rumours of Snipes joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe in a role that wasn’t Blade, which obviously opens up a vast array of characters and possibilities. These talks could even lend themselves to allowing Snipes-as-Blade to make an appearance in one of Marvel’s Netflix-exclusive shows at some point. Personally, we'd love to see him tangle with Jon Bernthal's Punisher at some point.

As ever, expect more on this as and when it develops.
