Jena Malone's Mystery BATMAN V SUPERMAN Role Revealed?

Movie News

Remember the mystery surrounding Jena Malone’s role in Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice? Well Latino Review claims to know just who Malone will be playing in next March’s superhero mash-up movie.

It was initially believed that Malone would be playing Carrie Kelley, the young girl who becomes Robin in Frank Miller’s iconic The Dark Knight Returns, a work that has been a heavy influence on Batman v Superman. The Carrie card is now off the table, and the actress is said to be playing another female with close ties to the Caped Crusader.

This new scoop claims that Jena Malone will indeed be playing Barbara Gordon in Snyder’s movie. Whether Babs has been or will become Batgirl or Oracle in the DC Cinematic Universe is unknown at this stage. Given that Batman v Superman features Ben Affleck as a grizzled Dark Knight who has been active for a long time, including apparently having lost a Robin along the way (here’s looking at you, Jason), one would have to believe that Barbara Gordon has a fair chance of having been Batgirl already in this world.

In the comic book realm, Babs’ time as Batgirl was abruptly brought to an end after The Joker shot her in the spine, causing her to be confined to a wheel chair. From here, she’d take up the Oracle moniker as she assisted Batman with her advanced IT skills and knowledge attained from working alongside Bruce Wayne for so many years.

Whilst this news has yet to be confirmed by Warner Brothers, Latino Review is usually on the money with this stuff, so make of that what you will.

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is set for a March 25th, 2016 release.
