With AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON now in cinemas, that means that CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is even closer. And that particular film will see the MCU debut of everyone’s favourite Webhead, Spider-Man.

It’s been claimed for a while that Marvel Studios and Columbia Pictures are close to casting this latest big screen Peter Parker, and The Wrap has the scoop on just which names are currently under consideration for the gig of a lifetime.

No formal offer has been made to any of the talent as of yet, but it’s believed that the five names currently in consideration for the Spider-Man role are ENDER’S GAME’s Asa Butterfield, INTERSTELLAR’s Timothee Chalamet, LOCKE’s Tom Holland, PSYCH’s Liam James and THE FAULT IN OUR STARS’ Nat Wolff.

It’s been revealed previously by Marvel’s Kevin Feige that this new Peter Parker will be a teen in his high school years and that he already exists in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. There will be no major origin telling this time around for the character, with him being introduced in CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR before getting his own solo film. The current plan is to focus heavily on this Parker’s teen years and explore his high school days.

So, do any of the above faces tick your Peter Parker boxes?

CAPTAIN AMERICA: CIVIL WAR is set for a May 6th, 2016 release, with the first of the new SPIDER-MAN movies set for a July 28th, 2017 release.
